Austin will be hosting two coed tournaments this fall and would to have you
there.
There will be an indoor tournament November 9th. It’s a 4-1 format. Each
team must have 7 players but can have no more than 10. Rosters will need to
be turned in the morning of the tourney. Only 10 bids are available. Bids
cannot be held without payment. CLIF bars will be provided. However, teams
can BYOB. A few special indoor rules (ie stall six, no upside down or roller
pulls) will apply. Contact me with any questions. Tourney fee goes up to
$175 on October 16th. All of these indoor tournaments have filled up early
so if you want a bid make sure to get one soon.
Also, Celebracion del Espiritu is back on November 22nd and 23rd. This will
be a 5/2, 4/3 format with offense dictating. It’s a $250 bid. All teams
wearing costumes will get 20% of their bid back, that’s right $50 of your
cash back for celebrating the spirit of the game and keeping Austin weird.
We’ll have the standard breakfast fare and a great party Saturday night.

Ultimate 101, a tourney in Dallas October 18th and 19th….

You guys can come as long as your are not bring a hardcore club a team. Once again this is a noob college tournament and will not be hard run over teams with let’s say riverside A team. This is for the new player to play. And there will be women on teams so please bring a few.

The players from the Sunday Lake Creek game would like to cordially invite the players of the MoFri IM fields games to consider sampling our little pickup activities on Sunday Sept 21 and Sun Oct 5!
The Lake Creek game is, in my opinion, the most laid-back and beginner-friendly game in town. 🙂 I don’t mean to offend, because the MoFri games are pretty mellow, but at Lake Creek, there’s usually no stall count, and once a gimpy player walked the entire game (and made a scad of passes and catches). At the same time, there are some very skilled players out there. A bunch of MoFri players have played at Lake Creek and some got started playing there. So if you want to build confidence in a throw, work on your hucking, or just play on Sunday, you should join us!
The game is a bit northwesterly, but we often carpool from central Austin. On 9/21 and 10/5, we’ll be meeting at the IM fields parking lot at 9:45am sharp and driving up. You can email me (Dave Chang dchang SQUIGGLE sparkleworks.com) to RSVP but it’s not required. My # is 512 371 0610 if you run late. Here’s the listing from austinultimate.org:
