So with Thanksgiving being yesterday, there’s a chance the fields might not be open. But with everyone (mostly) off work, a daytime game could be arranged.

Winter League 2009

Dear player/gamer,

Registration for Austin Winter League is officially OPEN.

“PRESS START TO PLAY”

That’s right. FINALLY, a theme revolving around the pixellated games that helped socialize, babysit, and satisfy the competitive yearning of anyone born before the compact gaming disc (or flying disc?).

I’m talkin about The Mario Bros. I’m talkin about Mega Man… Mario Kart…    Zelda…   Sonic…   Dragon Warrior…   River City Ransom (was that game based in Austin btw?)… Punch Out!!…      TECMO BOWL!!! for heaven’s sake.

I challenge you to reclaim those hours of lost (cherished) youth, and play AWL 2010!!

Spots are limited, so get signed up today. Registration will close when slots are filled. Remember, this is a food and bev league open to those age 19 and over only!! (unless signed up with a participating parent)

A fee of $44 gets you a wicking team jersey (new this year), a sweet-ass disc, tasty food and alcoholic beverages at league nights, and 7 weeks of competitive, cool-weather Ultimate with your closest and newest friends. League happens on Sunday afternoons at the YMCA fields near MLK and 183.

Captains needed! If you’re the type of person who knows a thing about frisbee and wants to facilitate good times for all, then you should volunteer as a captain.

Attention all of you Austinites! I have 2 small groups that I am training at Anytime Fitness on MWF. One is at 6 AM and another at 4 PM. It’s a 2-for-1 deal, $200 a month (you can split that with a friend & it’s only $100). That comes out to $17/session (or $8/session…$8!!). I have 3 spots left in each group. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A MEMBER! Why not start your New Year’s Resolution a little earlier this year?

  • We can review our New Zealand Pictures of Paul & Victoria in New Zealand or play something!
